I used GLview, and it told me that my PC does support 3.3. Until OSX Mavericks I was stuck on OpenGL 3.2 and I wanted to use OpenGL 3.3 features, so I just used ARB extensions until then, and they worked great. I re-started the computer and BINGO! Luminance 1.2 worked fine. I was wondering if my intel HD graphics 2000 can use OpenGL 3.3, because I have had errors when trying to play games that need it, with errors saying I need OpenGL. So technically you maybe be able to use OpenGL 3.2 features even if your hardware does not support it. I was prompted to save when exiting and did so.ħ.
#INTEL HD GRAPHICS OPENGL 3.3 DRIVER#
Using older versions of Windows or Linux might work since the chip have more features than the driver exposes.
#INTEL HD GRAPHICS OPENGL 3.3 SOFTWARE#
So software relying on Open GL features not present in Open GL 1.1 will not work.

Returning to the left panel, I clicked 'Set PhysX Configuration'.ĥ, In the right panel, I changed 'Select a Physx processor' from 'autoselect' to 'GeForce GT 525M'.Ħ. The drivers for Intel HD Graphics 3000 in Windows 10 does not expose all Open GL capabilities of the GPU. Under 'preferred graphics processor' in the right panel, I changed the drop-down choice from 'integrated graphics' to 'High-performance NVIDIA processor'.Ĥ. Until OSX Mavericks I was stuck on OpenGL 3.2 and I wanted to use OpenGL 3.3 features, so I just used ARB extensions until then, and they worked.

I found that my Laptop has the latest Intel HD Graphics 3000 drivers but it only supports up to OGL 3.1. In the left panel, I clicked 'Manage 3D Settings'.ģ. OS: Windows 10 64-bit, MacOS, or Ubuntu Processor: Intel Core i3 2.6 GHz Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6000 Memory: 4 GB RAM Storage: 200 MB available space. Ask Question Asked 7 years, 11 months ago. For my computer, I right clicked on the desktop and then clicked on 'Nvidia Control Panel'.Ģ. I want to point out that Luminance, for whatever reason, isn't registered in Windows (10 Home) on this computer and therefore doesn't show up on the 'use other apps' list. This could apply to anyone who has dual graphics processors like my second computer has an older Dell XPS L502X.

I fixed the problem with the 'OpenGL 3.3 needed' error and some of you might have the same issue which was NOT a deficient OpenGL version, but a Windows problem. This means your graphics card and driver do not have the minimum required OpenGL 3.3 version needed by Blender.
